“The spotlight can be a hotbed for envy, jealousy, and resentment for entertainers because of the fire that burns in the heart of a great performer. Their inner fire is the ignition that inspires them and electrifies their audience. I call it PIEZO!”

I know this do well as an entertainer. In the past I’ve been the recipient of a few entertainers focus of jealousy. Life can be lonely as a performer.

Ginger, you nailed it every bit. Lacking the family music led me to an amateur soloist career with no aspirations of becoming professional. Instead, it gave me life and meaning; I could play for my friends as they lay dying, and at their funerals (the audience that weeps and will never applaud) or make people dance or fall off a stool or cry in their beer or just forget time a bit. Shake up the old boys, on and on, memory after memory. You answer your own question perfectly: 'it's about the music"...and it runs deep.

I know performing creates a natural high in the performer that can be hard to equal anywhere else. I am not a performing artist but I can imagine. Thanks for a lovely post.
